What you should know:

In the human organism, proteins (included hydrolysed) have a mainly plastic/structural function, while in energy terms, in normal physiological conditions, their importance is negligible. Proteins supply the majority of the “building blocks” (amino acids) that we are made of, and become energetic substrata only in very special conditions (e.g. long-term fasting).

In addition to these properties that are common to all proteins, hydrolysed proteins have certain important features. They have the highest absorption level of amino acids in the gastrointestinal tract. A few minutes after being taken, there is a haematic increase of amino acids that they are formed of. Unlike other proteins that have to be “digested” before they supply the organism with amino acids, hydrolysed proteins can be called “pre-digested”: the large protein molecules (formed from thousands of amino acids) have been split down into smaller molecules (for enzymatic hydrolysis). In hydrolysed proteins there are high percentages of individual amino acids and di-peptides (molecules formed of two amino acids), tri-peptides (molecules of three amino acids) and oligo-peptides (molecules of several amino acids) that all vary in size.

The advantage of using hydrolysed proteins is that they are very similar to a mixture of individual amino acids, with lower costs and they are much more palatable (they have a better flavour than individual amino acids, which are usually quite bitter).

Therefore, hydrolysed proteins are easier to absorb and digest, and they are linked to a considerable increase in free amino acids in the blood in less than half an hour from being taken. This rapidly offers the organism the amino acids it needs to support a charged protein anabolism, which enables optimising the use of endogenous proteins and reduces proteolysis. The rapid availability of amino acids enables defining a precise strategy for taking the product in relation to the muscular request before, during and after exertion. We should remember that in the period of time between 1 and 2 hours after training, muscular protein synthesis is at its maximum rate in athletes, also due to the physiological release of anabolic hormones (e.g. GH).

It is important to note that the hydrolysed products in this product (Carbery, Ireland) have a very low fat content (app. 1%) while lactose is virtually non-existent (> 0.1 %).

This nutritional profile and excellent solubility in water makes it a very easy to use product, and the most suitable for anyone who needs to eliminate fat and carbohydrates from their diet (e.g. body buildings during final training phases).

Directions for use

SPORT: Besides the nutritional importance of proteins, their use as a supplement is indicated for athletes to guarantee an increase or to maintain the lean mass (muscular mass) to the detriment of the fat mass. In this field, XXX HYDROLYSED PROTEIN 90 is a highly technical product. Very easy to digest it can be taken just before or during exertion.

Doses: for athletes who practice power sports up to 1.6-1.7 g/kg of body weight per day for sustained exertion. For athletes who practice resistance sports, up to 1.2-1.4 g/kg of body weight a day, again in relation to the exertion involved. When the product is taken after exertion, it helps ensure good muscular recovery.

Daily life: this is a useful product for anyone whose diet is low in protein foods (meat, fish) and for anyone who wants to reduce/eliminate carbohydrate and fat intake in low calorie slimming diets. Milk serum proteins (including hydrolysed) have high biological value and can substitute meat (as a source of proteins) in anyone who needs a diet that is low in cholesterol, fats or whoever suffers from hyperuricemia, gout, nephropathy from urates.

Doses: 0.8-1.0 g / kg body weight per day, in relation to effective protein needs.
