L-ornithine and alpha-ketoglutarate are substances present in the human organism, where they perform biochemical functions of primary importance:

L-ornithine alpha-ketoglutarate (OKG) is recognised as having:

1)      A protective action (anti-catabolic) on proteins. In effect, it prevents or slows their destruction (protein catabolism). This effect is very important at muscular level, especially for the maintenance/reinforcement of muscular mass and the slowing down/prevention of muscular atrophy, due to various traumas. In slimming diets, OKG should slow down/prevent the loss of muscle tone (firming action) caused by catabolism; certain research has demonstrated the usefulness of OKG in improving the clinical condition of burn patients. In these cases, there was an improvement in the nitrogen balance (lower protein loss) in the patients;

2)      A detoxifying / anti-stress action: OKG aids removal of toxic substances produced by the organism (e.g. ammonia) when under stress. This increases physical and, above all, mental efficiency;

3)      An energetic action: OKG aids the production of energy coming from physiologically alternative sources. In particular, it directs ramous amino acids to energetic use (this action being catalysed by vitamin B6), it promotes glucose synthesis and activates the Krebs cycle (= production of energy);

4)      A moderately anabolic action: OKG induces a slight increase in insulation and IGF-1 in the blood.

DAILY LIFE: the product is indicated in the loss of muscle mass (asthenia, surgery, intense slimming diets, malnutrition, excessive weight loss due to illness) and to contrast physical and mental stress.

Dose: 4 capsules during the day, preferably on an empty stomach. For slimming diets, refer to the Snelly Kit specification.

SPORT: the product is indicated:

1)      to reduce or prevent the loss of muscle mass (hyper protein catabolism) due to prolonged intense physical exercise, trauma or when training is suspended;

2)     to better face physical resistance performance;

3)     support the natural anabolic action (increase in muscle mass) that is induced by physical exercise.

Dose: take 4-6 capsules divided before, during and after training or competitions.

Side effects, toxicity: the product has no side effects, even in high doses (10-15 g per day) and taken for long periods (months).
