What you should know
Honey is a high-energy food that dates back to really ancient times. 100 g of honey contain around 80 g of simple sugars (3 g of saccharose, 77 g of glucose and fructose in virtually equal amounts). Honey could be called natural syrup high in sugar. Honey gives energy to the organism in the short term (saccharose and glucose) (in just a few tens of seconds), in the medium term (fructose) (a few tens of minutes). This property is also associated with a rapid increase in glycaemia levels. Therefore it is recommended for athletes each time there is the risk of a sudden drop in performance due to hypoglycaemia caused by exertion.
Even though honey is not anything new, not even for athletes, our product has two very important innovative features.
The first is the packaging, in DUOTM 60 g sachets, which are very easy for any athlete to carry around, a cyclist, runner, walker or marathon runner. The second innovation is the search for an exclusively Italian honey. Over recent years, honeys of varying origin have become widespread in the Italian market, especially from the non-EU countries. While not criticising these products, we wanted to ensure that our honey was the best possible quality. The relative analysis certificates for each single lot testify the total absence of colorants, preservatives, antimicrobials, allergens and GMO. Moreover, pesticides, antibiotics and sulphamides are strictly excluded, which incorrectly increase production to the detriment of the quality of the end product.
Attention: the physical state of the product may alter due to time or low temperatures (crystallisation, phases, etc.), which however do not affect the nutritional properties of the honey and are quickly reversed, in fact, the initial liquid state is restored by keeping the product at a temperature of 40-50°C for a while.
Given all these factors, our honey product is ideal for any athlete who wants to maintain as healthy a diet as possible that is compatible with achieving good athletic performance levels.
Directions for use
SPORT 1) to maintain and sustain a right energy balance especially in the final phase of intense and extensive physical exertion; the product is particularly indicated to face 30-40 minutes of exertion after eating it. 2) To prevent falls in Energy levels, especially sudden and unexpected drops. 3) As it is very easy to digest, it is ideal even during very intense exertion.
Doses: a proportional amount to the number of calories the athlete burns. At least one sachet per each hour’s sport, or, alternatively, 1-2 sachets to prevent or better face any sudden attacks of energy loss.
Contraindications: at the recommended doses, the product has no contraindications even for long-term use. Diabetic athletes should consult a health professional before using the product.
