Health food supplement based on magnesium
Magnesium is an indispensable element for life. There is about 30-40 gr of magnesium in the human body of which over 60% of this is found in the bone tissue. The concentration of magnesium in serum is around 20 mg/litre of which two thirds is in the ionic form (Mg++) and the rest in seric proteins.
The estimated normal need of a human for magnesium is 300 mg/day. The quantity of magnesium in vegetables and meat varies from 200 to 300 mg/kg. This means that a normal diet cannot guarantee complete supply of magnesium and even more true for sportsmen and women whose need for this element significantly increases. The sportsman or woman’s greater need is caused by them losing magnesium through sweating.
The physiological importance of magnesium lies in its ability to activate hundreds of enzymes in the human body (magnesium dependent enzymes) that control nervous, muscular, cardiac, vascular, and metabolic activity. The same function is carried out by the magnesium dependent ATP (the energy molecule par excellence).
The deficiency of magnesium leads to a muscular symptomatology characterised by pain, spasms, cramp, and tetany. Before arriving at this symptomatology, the athlete’s performance generally suffers, initially imperceptibly but with progressive deterioration (greater fatigue). Optimum concentrations of magnesium are therefore a prerequisite for optimum physical performance. In contrast, no serious study has ever shown that assuming high doses of magnesium can improve athletic performance supermaximally in any way. A magnesium supplement for sportsmen and women is therefore (not just a little) important and fundamental to preventive goals.
Prolonged magnesium deficiency in typically non sporting environments can lead to hypertension (lack of its calcium-antagonist action), forms of cardiomyopathy, and there is an increased probability of stones forming. On the contrary, recent studies indicate that careful therapy/supplement using magnesium seems to produce beneficial effects in cardiovascular diseases, diabetes (both types 1 and 2) and its side-effects, as well as osteoporosis.
Instructions:
SPORT: since profuse sweating during exercise can induce significant loss of magnesium, this loss needs to be replaced. Magnesium deficiency can lead to muscular cramp, hardness, and heaviness that together can cause real damage to the muscle tissue.
dosage: 1-2 tablets a day (preferably during stamina resistance exercise) to replace the effective loss through sweating.
EVERYDAY LIFE: 1-2 tablets a day (preferably during stamina resistance exercise) to replace the effective loss through sweating.
dosage: 1 capsule a day.
Packaging: 60 chewable tablets (300 mg of magnesium/capsule).
